José Luís Temes Montes
José Luis Temes has a Ph.D in medicine and a Master’s in business management; he is also a specialist in nephrology.
He has managed hospitals in Orense, the Marqués de Valdecilla Hospital in Santander, La Paz Hospital and Fundación Jiménez Díaz in Madrid and the Reina Sofia Hospital in Cordoba. He was the director general of the National Health Institute and is a former deputy minister of health. With McGraw-Hill Interamericana, he has published Gestión Hospitalaria in 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007 and 2011, Gestión de Procesos Asistenciales: Aplicación Práctica in 2006, El Coste por Proceso Hospitalario in 1994, El Sistema Nacional de Salud in 1997 and Gestión Clínica in 2000. He currently heads the online Master’s in hospital management at the University of Alcalá and is the director of MESTESA Asesoría Sanitaria.
